job detailsjob summary:Manufacturer south of Arkansas City is seeking a Quality Manager to add to their team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar and previous supervisory experience in manufacturing. Steel product manufacturing experience highly desired as well as audit experience and steel fabrication/welding. Will relocate for the right candidate.All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.location: Arkansas City, Kansasjob type: Permanentsalary: $70,000 - 80,000 per yearwork hours: 8am to 4pmeducation: Bachelorsresponsibilities:
Lead customer QC audits
Contribute to the product design process
Experience with fabrication, metal cutting, forming and welding
Understanding of product design; ability to read prints
Determine root cause and provide corrective actions
Guide the creation of inspection documents for production of parts throughout the entire manufacturing process
Understand geometric tolerance to assist manufacturing expectations and limitations
Lead and promote Kaizen Quick Kill process and keep employees engaged
Update the manufacturing QC manual as required
Control and update the ASME Code Vessel manual as required in order to maintain certification
Oversee and verify proper quality process is followed and ensure proper documentation
Effectively set priorities of the QC group as required in a fast-paced, demanding manufacturing environment
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required
At least 5 years of manufacturing experience; steel manufacturing preferred
Proficiency in MS Office software
Ability to read mechanical drawings and prints
Previous supervisory experience to lead a team of 6-8
