Machinist Job Duties and Responsibilities
Produce machined components to specifications by reading, drawings, or engineering information.
Operate manual lathe
Maintain equipment by keeping machine & work area clean
Use material moving equipment
Load and unload parts in and out of machine
Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and precision instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
Read and interpret shop work instructions and shop procedures.
Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used for machining work
Wages: $23-25 an hour
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Considerable knowledge of machines and tools
Welding knowledge is a plus
Must be able lift up to 50 Lbs. on occasion
Basic mathematics skills
Knowledge of basic functions of manual lathe
Use measuring instruments
Proficient in blueprint reading
Strong attention to detail
Other Requirements
Successfully pass Pre-Employment Drug Screen, Background Check, Physical Exam, Customer Security Check, and E-Verify.
Attendance – Must be available when scheduled for work
Must be able to use time effectively and productively
Must be able to communicate, understand and follow directions
