The Cook is responsible for grocery shopping and cooking lunch and dinner daily. The Cook also ensures clean cooking utensils, chopped ingredients and clean work areas.ResponsibilitiesChecking inventory of ingredients dailyAcquiring ingredients not available in storage prior to the start of the dayPreparing ingredients by chopping vegetables and meatsCooking lunch and dinner meals for clients based on set recipesMonitoring food budgets to ensure all supplies are bought within the set budgetMaking arrangements to store food items in a safe and orderly mannerRotating food items as indicated in the kitchen rule bookMaintaining kitchen order by ensuring cleanliness of tables, counters and work areasOverseeing cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen equipment and utensilsOperating kitchen equipment such as ovens and grills for cooking purposesManage and rotate emergency food supplyThis is a part time position working Saturdays and Sundays 11am-7pmFor a virtual tour of the facility, please visit our website at centerfordiscovery.com.
