We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Hygienist to join our growing dental practice in Topeka, Kansas. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by performing clinical hygiene procedures and educating patients on the importance of oral health. As a Hygienist, you will work collaboratively with our dental team to ensure every patient receives a positive and thorough experience while maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence and infection control.Perform comprehensive clinical hygiene procedures, including oral prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing, sealant application, and fluoride treatmentsConduct thorough oral cancer screenings and take dental radiographs using proper X-ray techniquesEducate patients on effective oral hygiene methods, demonstrating proper brushing and flossing techniques, and provide personalized recommendations for maintaining optimal oral healthObtain, review, and update patient dental and health histories, ensuring all documentation is accurate and current for returning and new patientsCommunicate professionally with the dentist regarding clinical findings, identifying opportunities for restorative and periodontal treatment recommendationsMaintain meticulous clinical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and practice standardsSterilize and maintain clinical instruments and equipment according to infection control protocolsSupport the dental team in creating a welcoming, organized, and efficient clinical environmentAssist in patient scheduling and treatment coordination to optimize practice flow
