Heavy Equipment Operator

The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Heavy equipment may include wheel loaders, excavators; screening, crushing, and material conveying systems; street sweepers; skid steers; and other similar equipment. The Heavy Equipment Operator must also clean, inspect, and secure all equipment and perform minor preventive and other maintenance on his/her equipment.Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions): Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner according to all relevant local, state, and federal regulations and all company policies and procedures.Perform and document daily safety and maintenance checks.Perform minor preventive and other maintenance.Clean equipment as scheduled or necessary.Promptly report any incidents, injuries or safety concerns to management.Adhere to and abide by Clean Earth safety and security policies and procedures (e.g.Cardinal Rules, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), etc.)Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by management.Responsibilities may vary based on site level and/or location. Work Environment:Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly without assistance and up to 75 pounds unassisted on occasion.Ability to push and pull up to 500 pounds using a pallet jack, hand truck, or other device to assist.Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled environments.Visual acuity to read labels and documentation and sufficient depth perception to safely operate forklifts.Ability to hear vehicle warning chimes, alarms, and other audible safety signals.Ability and willingness to wear company-issued personal protection equipment (PPE), including, but not limited to, safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed boots, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator. Ability to work overtime hours as needed based on business needs.
