Learn more about Saint Joseph Hospital and it's awards and recognitions here: Saint Joseph HospitalResponsibilitiesProvides efficient hospital communications through the operation of the hospital switchboard and paging system.Essential Key Job Responsibilities
Performs all duties related to switchboard activity, i.e. completing incoming calls, paging physicians and hospital personnel, and forwarding messages. Authorizes long distance telephone calls in accordance with established procedures.
Responds quickly and accurately to incoming emergency signals and requests for announcing Hospital distress codes.
Responsible for knowing appropriate procedures related to emergency situations.
Responsible for making necessary announcements daily in accordance with standard procedures.
Maintains current “on call” listing and places calls to locate teams needed for emergencies.
Responsible for distribution of replacement pagers and batteries and contacting appropriate parties concerning pager malfunctions.
Other duties as assigned by Management.
QualificationsRequired Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must have great listening and communication skills.
Adequate conversational English is required in order that the individual be able to take direction from management, understand how to complete job tasks, communicate adequately with patients and co-workers as necessary, understand and follow safety guidelines, and organizational policies.
Microsoft Office.
