The position must understand the mechanical requirements of our product and process methods. Major Areas of Responsibility Major areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
Determining the automation capabilities of an organization’s processes or products.
Develops solutions to resolve issues that hinder productivity.
Building automated systems for an organization and correcting any errors when implementing a solution.
Writing reports that explain automation projects from start to finish.
Testing and monitoring automation systems.
Upgrading or deactivating existing automation systems.
Attending training sessions to learn the best practices in automation engineering.
Training stakeholders on how to troubleshoot automation systems.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
This position requires the following essential knowledge, skills, and abilities to satisfactorily fulfill the role:
Minimum, bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of experience in a similar engineering position.
Minimum, 3 years of engineering experience in manufacturing setting or equivalent.
Combine engineering knowledge with software development and coding skills.
Knowledgeable in Automation design and robotics.
Innovative mind-set, analytical thinking, and creativity to develop automation solutions.
Act as subject matter expert during the deployment of new initiatives, enhancements, upgrades, patches into test environments.
Ability to multi-task and to lead projects in teamwork environment.
Process improvement and development using quality tools (5-why’s, corrective action, 8-D, etc.)
Detailed oriented, well-organized; self-starter; ability to work under minimal supervision.
Dependable and self-motivated.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. Exposure to intermediate/loud noise is expected when working in the manufacturing environment.
