Supplemental InformationThe Sports Medicine Department at Northwestern State University, a Division I member of the NCAA and the Southland Conference, is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Athletic Trainer within the intercollegiate athletic department. Sport assignments will include Men’s Basketball. May include other duties during the off-season. The expected start date will be as soon as possible. Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.

Candidates must be fully certified as an Athletic Trainer by the BOC.

Must become state licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners prior to start date.

Experience at the college level preferred.

Job Concepts

Coverage of games and practices, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries, completing all necessary documentation, and travel with the assigned sport

Assist head athletic trainer with daily operation of athletic training

Supervise the physician visits to the athletic training room

Administrative and other duties as assigned by the head athletic trainer.
