The Maintenance Technician provides basic mechanical maintenance, janitorial, and grounds care for the sites as directed by the Maintenance Director. The position includes two properties in South Portland. Routine hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, however, may be subject to change depending on business needs.
Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with:
o Some knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems work.
o Minor drywall & painting
o Carpentry skills
Ability to work under pressure
Good communication skills
Comfortable multi-tasking
Customer service skills
Reliable transportation and valid Driver's License
Ability to pass background and drug screening
Patch holes, drywall repair, when necessary, apply paint properly
Appliance installation
Performs necessary seasonal grounds maintenance
Depending on the site, work may include cleaning of common area grounds free of debris,
Maintains the workshop, utility room(s), and mechanical rooms to ensure the rooms are kept
Clean.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing duties of this job, the maintenance technician occasionally works near moving mechanical parts or in outside weather conditions. The maintenance technician is occasionally exposed to wet, cold and/or humid conditions, fumes, dust and other environmental conditions. The noise level in the work environment is mostly quiet to moderately noisy.
