Our state-of-the-art facilities and diagnostic equipment support the latest in technology in trucking and provide an environment fueled by innovation.The shop maintenance crew are vital members of the service team and are charged with maintaining a safe, clean working environment for all dealership employees and customers specifically focused on our service bays and truck lot.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESThe primary duties and responsibilities of the shop maintenance are:

Cleans the service and customer areas, including but not limited to the waiting are, technician’s locker room, lunch/break room, halls, offices and service bays.

Performs routine building maintenance in such a manner as to minimize interruption of customers or employees.

Washes all windows, glass doors and glass panels throughout service area.

Sweeps technician stalls, service department and body shop floors, showroom, halls, and vending areas.

Cleans all signs, posters, service signs, mirrors and fans.

Cleans driveway and sidewalks, removing snow and debris as necessary.

Washes shop truck, inside and out.

Cleans forklift and power equipment.

Empties and cleans all trash receptacles, inside and outside.

Removes all debris from lot.

Maintains yard equipment and cleaning supplies.

Cleans oil storage tanks according to procedures.

Drains and disposes of used oil filters properly.

Removes any old scrap service from shop after checking with parts manager.

Returns cores to storage area.

Assists technicians with oil and water spills; and emptying drain tubs.

Runs errands as directed.

Understands and complies with OSHA Right-to-Know and other federal, state, and local regulations.

Uses proper eye, hand, and body protection when using products that require protection.

May be required to assist at other locations.

Other duties as assigned.

RequirementsGENERAL WORK QUALITIES REQUIRED

Must be self-motivated

Strong verbal communication skills.

Must be a team player and adhere to company policies and procedures

SKILL, TRAINING AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS & PREFERENCESThe shop maintenance requires a number of basic skills, including:

High School Diploma

Possess valid driver’s license

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe shop maintenance position is fast paced and can be physical, demanding a number of physical attributes, including:

The ability and energy level to stand/move for a long period of time.

The ability lift at least 50 pounds, unaided

The ability to periodically work beyond the scheduled shift, as directed by Service Manager

WORKING CONDITIONSEmployee safety is a prime concern in the service department and every effort is made to insure a safe working environment. However, a number of conditions may be problematic for some, including:

High noise levels

Airborne elements such as dust and exhaust fumes

Usage of CRT video screens and PC keyboards

Wet floors.
