2nd Shift Maintenance Mechanic/Manager

3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.

PURPOSE:

Set up, adjust, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain assigned equipment with responsibility for production and quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Daily:

Check start up of machines, cnc’s.

Respond to problems that arise with all equipment in building.

Perform daily maintenance procedures.

Work with production to provide seamless shift changeovers.

Help Teammates test equipment to verify correct operation and production.

Look for any visible wear or defects on machinery daily.

Weekly:

Perform maintenance on equipment, which includes tasks such as grease and replacement of consumable parts.

Monthly:

Perform larger preventative maintenance on monthly schedule provided (differs from weekly preventative maintenance).

REQUIREMENTS:

Physical Requirement:

Must be able to be on feet up to 8 hrs per day.

Ability to work off ground level with proper safety equipment.

Must be able to lift 70 lbs.

Equipment Requirements:

Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and shop tools.

Knowledge of and ability to use electrical meters.

Reading a tape measure

Additional Requirements:

Knowledge in mechanical equipment and the understanding of how machinery works.

Must be willing to work overtime as needed. No 60hr weeks, but occasional OT based on situations. Avg of 43 – 48 hrs per week.

Must be willing to learn new equipment as it is brought on-line.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Not Required, but value added skills:

3-Phase electrical experience to include troubleshooting.

Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems using schematics, technical drawings and maintenance manuals.

Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and install a range of equipment from low DC voltage to 120v – 480v AC high voltage circuits, motor controls, control logic, make minor program changes on VFD’s, and troubleshoot by power wiring.

Educational Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED

Vocational school a plus

Trade school a plus

Welding a plus

Work Experience:

CNC experience is a plus.

5 years industrial or mechanical maintenance experience

Basic computer skills
