NPosition Type ManagementPOSITION SUMMARYAs a member of the Finance Business Partnership (FBP), the Manager, Finance – Luxury Brands will support the execution of processes which involve financial, operational, and planning strategies designed to meet business objectives. The role will provide support across the various aspects of The Luxury Group, and he/she will serve as a finance business partner to brand leadership and teams. Luxury business organizations include Brand Marketing, Brand Management, Luxury Global Operations, Luxury Design, Luxury Strategy, and Luxury Leadership.The Manager, Finance will also provide proactive support to ensure the financial management, reporting, and analysis needs of the Luxury organization are met through effective partnerships with the various Global Finance groups or other internal teams. It is imperative that the candidate has strong interpersonal skills to establish and manage relationships with business partners to effectively address and support their business needs, identify and implement appropriate solutions, act on business decisions, and improve overall business results.EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

Perform funding and cost analyses and produce presentation materials to support business decision making and to respond to internal management and external parties inquires.

Manage the ongoing review, analysis, monitoring, and communications activities related to the business. Examples of activities include:

Departmental P&L reviews

Project Management

Assist and review of programs billings and reconciliations

Acquire understanding of the funding sources for various activities and the complexities of those funding sources

Support return on investment analyses and other projects in support of property and brand initiatives. Follow up with responsible parties when necessary to complete initiatives planning process. Assist in the reporting of the Brand Initiatives and related analysis

Support the FBP team to deliver timely and effective execution of the enterprise-wide annual budget, forecast, and long-range planning processes (LRP), partnering with Luxury stakeholders, and Marriott Business Services (MBS).

Provide financial leadership to assigned Department Heads; review analysis and forecasts, variances to forecasts, actual spend, and other issues that impact various funding sources. Resolve discrepancies; develop and implement actionable recommendations and responses to address identified business challenges and opportunities.

Partner with Marriott Business Services (MBS) and other Global Finance groups, as appropriate, to provide routine and ad-hoc operating results and analysis to Luxury team members.

Partner with the FBP Luxury team and the appropriate Global Finance groups, as appropriate, to develop and/or modify reporting tools to ensure Luxury operating results, programs and services funding and costs are accurately reflected in company financials.

Support reporting & analysis needed for Programs & Services Agreement Compliance (PSAC) Advisory Committee approval.

Assist with submission process for programs that require approval from the Programs & Services Agreement Compliance (PSAC) Advisory Committee.

Assist with submission of Supplemental Budget Requests as needed by business partners.

Support the completion of the annual compliance processes/procedures (i.e., Prepared by Client workpapers, Agreed Upon Procedures, Federal Disclosure Document, Owner Disclosures). Respond to compliance, financial, and internal control audit requests as required (e.g., AUP, Sarbox, etc.). Ensure that compliance processes and/or procedures are executed.

Perform ad-hoc analyses as needed for the FBP organization, Luxury and Continent stakeholders, and other Global Finance groups on the business environment.

Maintain ongoing analysis and reporting established as the results of related project work. Examples may include analysis of category and control spending vs established thresholds, Marketing Programs spending analysis, reporting and dashboards.

Support Consumer, Revenue and Luxury procurement and contract approval processes to ensure compliance, limit financial risks, and ensure appropriate funding.

Work with respective business teams and individuals processing accounts payable and/or other accounting matters to ensure accuracy of invoice processing, accounting and recording. Implement financial controls in accordance with accounting policies and procedures to safeguard accounts payables for Brand teams.

Contribute to the organizational effectiveness of FBP organization by actively seeking to improve processes.

Contribute to existing or new projects as they are identified which have implications for business opportunities supported by the Luxury FBP team.

Develop knowledge of the industry and business needs for Luxury. Interpret data and reports in order to provide FBP leadership and discipline leaders meaningful summarized information. Ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial information, explain trends and/or variations in results vs. targets, and develop and implement actionable recommendations.

Identify and help implement process improvement opportunities in the interfaces/work processes with Global Finance groups.

Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

2+ years relevant professional experience

Knowledge of programs and services, and Marriott funding sources strongly preferred

Experience in data analysis and financial modeling; expert in making data-driven decisions

Solid knowledge of funding mechanisms and accounting policies, principles, practices, procedures and systems

Excellent computer skills: advance knowledge of MS Excel with strong financial acumen

Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills; able to take complex information and present it in a clear and concise manner

Effective problem-solving abilities; recognizes and researches problems and identifies their underlying causes and recommends and implements solutions; can think creatively to identify multiple potential solutions

Effective mediation skills to facilitate a constructive approach to dealing with conflict; able to address difficult issues and guide others toward the accomplishment of identified objectives

Able to consistently make decisions in a timely manner sometimes with less than complete information and under tight deadlines; escalates issues as appropriate; Comfortable with complexity, ambiguity and change

Excellent organizational skills; effective in prioritizing and managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines

Education and Professional Certification

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline required
