ProjectAccountant | Upper Marlboro, MD Why this company?· Aston Carter is hiring for a great project accountant in an awesome office atmosphere!Details:· Location: Upper Marlboro, MD· 100% On-site· Monday-Friday· 8am-5pm · 6-month contract to hireNecessary Skills· 1-4 years construction project accounting experience. · Construction job cost accounting experience. · Strong organization skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. · Previous experience with AP/AR. · Full life cycle project accounting experience. · Ability to support up to three Project Managers at a time. A day in the role…· Effectively communicate and work as a team with Project Managers (PM) regarding contract documents, change orders and other contract modifications, approvals, and any additional services related to Owner and vendor billing. · Enter Bi-Weekly Payroll into ERP Work with PM teams on client billing to ensure that all costs are covered in the monthly Owner billings. · Ensure accurate and timely processing of project accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash receipts. · Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities in a timely manner. · Assure internal control processes and compliance. · Analyze job cost reports to see if there are any fee fluctuations not caused by timing. · Work with PM team and Director of Accounting to take any corrective action required to correct fees, if applicable. · Recommend and implement agreed process improvements. · Monthly bank and vendor statement reconciliations. · Provide year-end support of auditor requirements, which may include research and reconcilement. · Perform additional assignments, as directed by the Director of Accounting. · Communicate and coordinate with other departments as needed. · Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
