Pay and benefits for employees represented by a union are outlined in their collective bargaining agreement. Position Purpose: Under the general direction of Plant Manager, responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance and repair of the wastewater treatment plant equipment, pump stations, lift stations and performs related work as required.Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Responsible for operating water and wastewater treatment plant equipment on a shift basis.Duties include, but are not limited to: operating, on a permanent or rotating basis, assigned treatment plant equipment; obtaining and recording, either in writing or by data entry, the readings of meters and gauges; daily inspections and maintenance of assigned equipment; cleans console; removes debris from equipment; sampling liquid streams, preparing reports and records pertaining to equipment operation and related matters.Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, unpleasant odors, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions and vibrations.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
