This program requires US Citizenship or Green Card (Lawful Permanent Residents)The Department seeks a highly skilled Senior Cloud Architect to join its IT Cloud Architecture team. This individual will play a crucial role in the department's ongoing migration to Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure while supporting the integration of cutting-edge Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Internet of Things (loT) technologies. The Senior Cloud Architect will not lead the cloud migration but will actively participate in architectural design and implementation efforts, ensuring seamless integration of cloud and on-premises environments.Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with cloud migration teams to design, implement, and optimize AWS and Azure solutions for the Department's infrastructure and enterprise applications.

Participate in integrating loT/ITS technologies with AWS and on-premises systems, contributing to the department's Intelligent Transportation Management initiatives.

Provide architectural designs for hybrid environments to support transportation management systems, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.

Assist with documenting logical and physical designs following the department's policies, standards, and patterns.

Support ongoing efforts to modernize on-premises systems, focusing on adequate data flow and system integration between transportation management and cloud-based services.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams in design reviews, cloud roadmap discussions, and project planning efforts.

Assist in drafting technical requirements and ensuring adherence to the department's cloud governance and security policies.

Conduct performance analysis and capacity planning to ensure the cloud environments were appropriately configured and optimized.

Collaborate with vendors and internal teams on product selection, integrations, and deployments, particularly regarding loT/ITS solutions.

Stay informed about the latest cloud, loT, and ITS technologies to bring innovative ideas to the department's infrastructure.

Minimum of 8 years of experience in infrastructure delivery and support, with significant exposure to cloud architecture.

Prior Govt. Exp Preferred. Prior Department of Transportation Exp Preferred.

Demonstrated experience with AWS and Azure, including cloud-native application development, application migration, and hybrid environments.

Solid experience integrating loT/ITS technologies, particularly in a transportation or government setting, is highly desirable.

Strong understanding of networking, cloud security, disaster recovery, and data management in hybrid cloud environments.

Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, or other languages.

Familiarity with transportation management technologies and protocols (ITS standards, transportation signal controllers, etc.).

Experience working in agile project environments, with the ability to diagram and present cloud architectures.

Proficient in utilizing GitHub and GitHub Actions for efficient code management, automation, and deployment processes.

Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (laC) pipeline deployment strategies using Terraform.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Education & Certifications:

Bachelor's degree or substantial career experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

AWS Cloud Certification (AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional) preferred.

Position Details:

Pay Rate / Range:$60-$75

The above salary range represents the range expected for the position; however, final salary offers are based on a number of factors such as the position’s responsibilities; the candidate’s experience, education, and skills; location; travel required; and current market conditions.
