Job Description for Customer Service and Manufacturing Planner (Full Time)

Our company has a great strategy, a committed team and excellent stability. Vita Needle continues to grow at a measured pace, continuing a trend started over 20 years ago. Owned and operated by the 4th and 5th generations of the family that started the business in 1932, we are proud of our heritage as American manufacturers of tubular products and are even more enthusiastic about the products we build today for medical & industrial applications. We are a contract manufacturer—which means the products we supply to our customers have a high degree of variety.

We relish the competitive opportunities in front of us and enjoy working in a fast paced environment where attention to product details are critical. Our metrics for growth are several-besides revenue we seek a balanced working environment, improved product quality, improved on time deliveries and innovation/process improvement.

Many companies pay lip service to family values whereas we follow through. We're humble and not big on titles. We check our egos at the door and look for the best solution to problems-which sometimes comes from the newest hire. We ask ourselves "What can we learn from this?" or "How can we use this situation in a positive way?" when things don't go as planned, so we are better next time. At Vita, positive energy, a deep willingness to work hard on opportunities and an unwillingness to simply tolerate problems are core values. Do you share these values too?

All applicants must have:

Excellent work ethic.

Positive attitude-if you can’t find a positive out of every situation, this job is not for you.

Excellent attention to detail-oral and written.

Ability to adapt and make well thought-out decisions when faced with ambiguity. Specifically, be able to think several steps downstream and anticipate what action is needed next.

Position duties:

Enter customer orders into database (ERP) and generate job travelers (instructions for making products). Most orders are custom products. Therefore, applicant must handle variety well and understand how to modify processes after training is completed.

Generate purchase orders when needed for subcontracted operations.

Plan and schedule subcontracted and internal operations functions to ensure on time delivery of parts.

Provide customer service via email and phone, including price quotations, order updates, changes to orders and resolving complaints.

Revise any orders / job travelers that need modification.

Prepare quotations and order confirmations to be sent to customers.

Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction with orders and competitiveness of price quotations.

Complete customer specific documentation requirements.

Compensation/Benefits:

$58-75K annually commensurate with experience

18 days of paid time off plus 10 paid holidays

Health insurance (with employee contribution) through Aetna

Participation in annual bonus program

Please submit a resume and a cover letter, or a short email about why you believe you are qualified for this position. We look forward to hearing from you!
