Responsible for maintaining the process tanks for pre-treatment and the waste treatment system. Maintain, clean, organized, and safe work environment. Remains flexible to perform other duties that may be assigned.

Job Functions:

Read and comprehend specific work instructions.

Titrate tank solutions to determine concentration levels and supervise addition of chemicals required to maintain proper solution strength.

Responsible for the regeneration of all DI columns.

Responsible for the conversion of chromium IV to chromium III under a batch treatment process of all chromium IV containing wastes.

Monitor the acid neutralization process to control the pH of the effluent to the POTW.

Monitor and clean the clarifier and filter press.

Maintenance and calibration as needed of all equipment.

Label, seal and move hazardous waste drums to the Hazardous Waste Accumulation Area.

Take all possible steps to avoid hazardous waste spills. Direct the clean-up of any spill that might happen to protect the safety of personnel and the environment from pollution.

Be knowledgeable of the chemical treatment processes.

Observe all company, local, state, and federal safety, and quality regulations.

Understand chemical environments and comply with use standards and appropriate PPE.

Clean rooms/work areas.

Skills:

Able to measure, weigh or count product or materials

Read and comprehend work instructions.

Maintain production work records.

Move or lift heavy objects.

Keep work area safe, organized, and clean.

Excellent attendance and work ethic.

Required Experience:

Two years’ experience in Waste-Water Treatment.

Grade 2 or 3 Industrial Waste-Water Treatment Operator License preferred but not required

High School graduate and two years technical college or equivalent.

Physical Demands

Lifts and moves 30 lbs. on a repetitive basis without assistance.

Must be able to stand on a continual basis for duration of shift.

Must be able to Ascend/Descend stairs.

Must be able to Sit, Walk, Climb, Stoop, Kneel.
