As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on a wide range of heavy equipment in our shop and at various job sites. Equipment includes excavators, loaders, utility trucks, and dump trucks. This role requires hands-on experience with diesel engines and heavy equipment systems to effectively diagnose issues, determine necessary parts, and complete repairs in a timely and professional manner.

Essential Functions:

Perform repairs and maintenance on brake, drivetrain, electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems

Troubleshoot issues related to diesel engines, emissions, electrical, and hydraulic systems

Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic information

Identify and determine appropriate parts, tools, and methods for each repair

Complete shop paperwork accurately and maintain service records

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Travel to job sites as needed to perform field service repairs

Lift, move, and install heavy parts and equipment safely and efficiently

Perform repairs and maintenance in a timely and reliable manner

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED

Technical certification or post-secondary training in diesel or heavy equipment repair preferred

3–5 years of experience in diesel and heavy equipment repair (minimum 3 years required)

Experience with Caterpillar equipment and diagnostic software preferred

Welding experience a plus

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

Manual dexterity and physical stamina to perform demanding repair work
