About Viking:

Viking Landscape Co. is a fast-growing, full-service landscape company based in North Reading, MA. Although Viking has been serving New England for nearly 40 years, the company entered an exciting new chapter under new ownership in 2023.

Our mission is simple: to enrich lives and strengthen the communities we serve by building and maintaining inspired outdoor spaces for discerning residential and commercial clients across New England.

We strive every day to be one of the region’s most trusted landscape companies by building an enduring brand that attracts top talent, empowers our people to reach their full potential, and delivers unparalleled customer experience.

Role Introduction:

In this pivotal position, you will oversee our landscape construction division and work closely with our project and operations teams to deliver a best-in-class customer experience from pre-construction through project completion. Please note, this is not an off-the-shelf, ready-made position. It is however an opportunity for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset to build, shape, and elevate a high-performing division within a fast-growing company.

We have a strong foundation in place, but there is still meaningful work ahead. For the right candidate, there is significant long-term upside and the opportunity to achieve both financial goals and career ambitions. You will not be micromanaged; we will give you resources, support, and autonomy to be successful, but expect you to own outcomes and operate independently.

Key Responsibilities

Build and grow our customer base by cultivating relationships with landscape architects, designers, general contractors, developers, and high-end homeowners.

Estimate and sell profitable landscape construction projects.

Create an environment where Viking is a destination for top talent.

Partner with our project team to schedule, plan, and execute work profitably while delivering best in class customer satisfaction.

Develop, monitor, and meet company operating budgets.

Procure, allocate, and manage company and project resources.

Lead and develop Viking’s in-house teams as well as subcontractor partners.

Expand and improve company sales, marketing, and estimating processes.

Leverage software and technology to drive efficiency and enhance operations.

About You

5+ years of experience managing complex landscape construction projects.

Strong bias for action, you MUST be a self-starter.

Enjoys solving customer problems and delivering outstanding service.

Leads from the front and sets the tone for the team.

Comfortable with accountability, both delivering it and receiving it.

Technologically proficient and process oriented.

You obsess over the details, because you know they’re what make a project exceptional.

Focused on long-term success and building something meaningful.
