We use carefully designed experiments to target areas for improvement identified from previous biological process knowledge/experience. We balance understanding/fundamental science with efficiency to make risk-based decisions that ensure safety/success of any process.Members of this team have the opportunity to contribute directly to current challenges in the group. While performing diverse, hands-on experiments, an individual will learn about a wide variety of research areas, including bioprocess development, process analytical technology, and control strategy.Position DescriptionThis co-op is onsite and lab-based.  Perform and document a variety of functions in support of the development of new technologies for cell culture manufacturing processes of human therapeutic biomolecules.  Conduct laboratory cell culture experiments, such as setting up and running bench scale bioreactors and shake flasks, assisting in experimental design, troubleshooting, and analyzing data.  Candidates should expect to spend roughly half of their time performing bench-scale bioreactor experiments and half of their time handling and interpreting the generated data. Data analysis may include, but is not limited to, handling and storage of data, optimization of data flows, first principals-based modeling, and multivariate modeling, Candidates must be strong team players and collaborate effectively on complex projects.
