Test Engineer, MidThe Challenge:When a user tries new software, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful software development - and that means rigorous testing. That's why we need you, an experienced test engineer who knows how to thoroughly test software and work with developers to make sure our team releases the best software possible. As a test engineer on our team, you'll use your experience to work with tests and developers to evaluate software developed for national defense. You'll contribute to the building of a test plan with test cases based on user stories. Using automated and manual processes, you'll generate data and execute the test cases to see how the software performs, then document the results and communicate defects to the development team so they can start improving the tool. - Experience with interpreting and translating requirements into test cases and test plans
- Experience with writing clear and concise test, requirements, or design documentation
- Knowledge of software development and systems engineering
- Ability to show creativity and initiative to improve product test coverage and effectiveness
- Ability to comprehend data, draw conclusions, and work independently in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment
- Ability to recommend solutions to technical challenges and communicate effectively with staff, management, and clients
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
- BA or BS degree
- Experience with testing mobile devices, mobile applications, or web-based applications
- Experience with integrating new and enhanced features, including the integration of third-party commercial applications into test cases and plans
- Experience with supporting or facilitating client test events
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and Microsoft Office tools as well as Agile and Scrum methodologies
- Experience with an object oriented programming language or scripting language, such as Python, PowerShell, Java, or C#
- Ability to be comfortable communicating cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal settings
- Ability to be a team player with high energy who thrives in an ambiguous environment
- Ability to interact with management and clients and hold technology-related discussions with non-technical individuals
- Ability to triage issues, react well to changes, work with teams, and multi-task on multiple products and projects
- Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Possession of excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Active Secret clearance
