Job Title: Distribution EngineerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Distribution Design Engineer, training offered. The primary role involves connecting new homes and commercial businesses to the energy grid or upgrading existing connections to the distribution grids. This position offers a combination of fieldwork and remote work, providing flexibility and a dynamic work environment.Responsibilities
Conduct fieldwork, including taking notes, pictures, and measurements to create work packages.
Develop electrical drawings and perform electrical analysis for site materials.
Perform engineering calculations such as structural analysis of poles, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, transformer sizing, voltage drop, and flicker coordination of protective devices.
Create a Bill of Materials (BOM) using SAP software.
Collaborate with utility companies' field installation teams to ensure accurate and effective implementation of work packages.
Interact daily with supervisors, peer groups, and customers to exchange and present factual information.
Perform administrative tasks, planning, and customer follow-up.
Essential Skills
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Civil Engineering OR an Associate’s with relevant design experience.
Proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD and MicroStation.
Ability to perform fieldwork and office work comfortably.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow standard practices and procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Nice to have: Experience with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC).
Nice to have: Familiarity with PoleForeman, SAP, and MicroStation.
Nice to have: Fundamentals of Engineer certification.
Strong communication skills, both written and interpersonal.

Work EnvironmentThis position involves a mix of field and remote work. Field inspections constitute 10%-20% of the work, with 60%-80% dedicated to engineering and developing design packages for construction crews, and 10% for administrative tasks and customer follow-up.
