We’re looking for diverse, talented team members who want to grow and challenge what’s possible with us.Who we’re looking forToyota’s Integrated Vehicle Systems (IVS) Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Automated Driving Systems (ADS) Project Manager.The primary responsibility of this role is to manage ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems) systems development, simulation and evaluation to deliver high quality production system and achieve industry-leading performance.Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager of IVS, the person in this role will support the [IVS] division's objective to [research, develop, evaluate and bring to market innovative ADS technologies.]What you’ll be doing

Plan, execute, and monitor project timelines towards goal achievement. Provide status and engage regularly with stakeholders including reports to executive level.

Manage resources for large-scale global projects, including logic development, data collection, and component/system evaluation​.

Support function owners on System and Software Architecture design for new ADAS features.

Identify gaps in existing circumstances. Improve or create new sustainable standardized processes, strategies or methods to overcome existing challenges.

Facilitate daily communication with Japanese counterparts to align global activities and drive consensus building.

Create and negotiate schedules across global organizations. ​

Technical liaison to convey North American customer voice in global projects. ​

Coordinate demos to North America and Japan executives​.

Communicate across TMNA organizations such as Sales, Legal, Quality, Service, and Product Planning to facilitate launch of new systems.​

What you bring

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, robotics, or computer science, or equivalent bachelor’s degree.

Proven ability to manage mid/large scale projects and collaborate internal and external stakeholders to reach project milestones with on-time high quality output.

Experience in vehicle or system development, working collaboratively across divisions to achieve milestone deliverable.

Experience with sensors, ECU’s, developing application software to facilitate testing in a vehicle or simulated environment (such as HILS, SILS).

Excellent time management and task prioritization skills. Track output, milestones and considering risk management.

Proven ability to operate effectively and autonomously across multiple teams in situations of extreme ambiguity, with only high-level direction.

This position requires driving. A motor vehicle record acceptable by company standards is required for this position.

Willingness to work overtime, when necessary, up to 15% of the time.

Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time.

What you may bring

Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in electrical engineering, computer engineering, robotics, or computer science, or equivalent bachelor’s degree.

Experience with large-scale software platform product development (device, application, services, cloud)

Experience in ADAS/ADS feature or application development (3 years)

Experience working and communicating in multicultural and multinational companies.

Passion for automotive engineering or robotics

Passion to extend project management experience to the design and evaluation of complex software technology.

Passion for mentoring junior-level team members in software development or project management.

Experience in realizing real time control solutions for robotics or other automated mobile systems.

Experience with camera, radar, lidar, or sonar technologies.

Experience with ADS technologies such as mapping, localization, path planning or control

Experience in supporting vehicle evaluations on proving grounds or on public roads.
