Courses may include MATSCIE 220, MATSCIE 250, or others depending on the qualifications and preferences of the applicant. This position is open as a teaching assignment for an initial period of three academic years, with possible renewal into fourth academic year and major review to continue. Topics covered: Properties (mechanical, thermal and electrical) of metals, polymers, ceramics, and electronic materials. Correlations of these properties with: (1) their internal structures (atomic, molecular, crystalline, micro-and macro); (2) service conditions (mechanical, thermal, chemical, electrical, magnetic and radiation); and (3) processing.Teach an introductory engineering materials course to engineering undergraduate students. Topics covered: Properties (mechanical, thermal and electrical) of metals, polymers, ceramics, and electronic materials. PhD degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent years teaching Materials Science courses at the college level.

Demonstrated teaching effectiveness as evidenced by evaluations or other relevant metrics.

Commitment to inclusive classroom practices, academic excellence, and student success.

Familiarity with the administrative tasks associated with teaching at the college level.

3 to 5 years of experience instructing collegiate engineering and/or science

Strong oral presentation and communication skills
