Work includes development and maintenance of training materials to ensure the efficient training of the client services call center and consult accessioning/NLNC teams and training and educational materials to support clients, client liaisons and the business development and connectivity teams.The MLabs Trainer/Educator Intermediate works in collaboration with the MLabs Trainer/Educator Senior, Operations Manager, Client Services and Consult Accessioning Supervisors, and other MLabs staff as well as laboratory technical and medical experts to locate existing resources, generate new resources, and create standardized training/educational materials. This role is essential to achievement of key performance milestones for Client Services Representatives (Call Center and Consult Accessioning) prior to unsupervised interactions with Michigan Medicine patients, clinical care givers and clients, as well as consult and transfer case accessioning activities. ResponsibilitiesJOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :(estimates of percentage time invested is expected to change as the repository of available teaching and educational materials are created).
Administer, organize and conduct training and educational programs in connection with management and promotional development, on-the-job training, and employee orientation. Maintain records of training activities and employee progress and monitor effectiveness of programs. [20%]
Design and develop standardized training materials for Client Service Representatives, other MLabs staff, and MLabs clients, and patients including primers, procedure manuals, video tutorials, audio tutorials, power point presentation training modules and proficiency tests.[15%]
Provide training for all new Client Services Representative staff. Train and assist in evaluating performance of Client Services staff. Provide coaching, feedback, and ongoing training to assist employees in achieving optimum performance. [20%]
Assist in development and performance of ongoing Call Quality evaluation program for incoming telephone calls to ensure that information is disseminated, established procedures are followed, customers receive quality service and Client Service Representatives have excellent training and the necessary skills and tools to ensure their success. [20%]
Maintain and update MLabs Salesforce CRM Knowledge Wiki to provide easily accessible answers to commonly encountered questions or situations. [5%]
Coordinate with Department of Pathology Laboratories to ensure current and accurate content of Test Handbook. [5%]
Collaborate with other trainers, managers, and leadership within and outside of the division and department to locate existing resources or training tools within Michigan Medicine, the University, or from external vendors. [5%]
Required QualificationsIn order to be considered for this position the applicant must have met or will have met all the required qualifications prior to the start date of employment.
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, organizational management, education, information technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2-5 years of related experience.
Experience with technologies and best practices for instructional manuals and teaching platforms.
Ability to analyze, compare, and evaluate various courses of action and be able to make recommendations to enhance operations.
Desired Qualifications
LEAN training.
Experience with Salesforce CRM software.
Experience with MediaLab application.
Experience with Microsoft applications.
Experience creating instructional videos using Adobe Captivate and/or Camtasia.
Experience with hospital (EPIC) and laboratory information systems (SOFT)
