Our deep-rooted commitment to excellence, collaboration, integrity, diversity and inclusion creates exceptional educational opportunities which prepare students for success in a global society.Essential functions (job duties):Description:The study skills/learning specialist provides academic support service and interventions for the Premedical Studies Graduate Certificate Program (Post Baccalaureate) students on an individual and small group basis; diagnose, prescribe, monitor, and evaluate individual learning plans for students; develop and deliver study skills seminars; hire, train and supervise student tutors; work with faculty and coordinate academic reviews.Essential Functions (Job Duties):A primary focus of this position is to provide effective learning, test taking and study skills strategies to maximize students’ potential for academic success; support initiatives related to student transition, academic advising, learning communities, and student services; monitor students' academic progress and recommend appropriate interventions to improve performance; maintain accurate individual student records and reports; assist with data management, surveys, and program evaluation.Unique duties:Qualifications:Qualifications:Master's Degree in Education (Mathematics, Science or English preferred), Counseling,Psychology, or a related field.Five or more years of experience in counseling, academic advising and/or provision of academic support to "at-risk" students in a college/university setting; goal oriented and student centered; knowledge of different learning styles.
