This position will analyze, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on building mechanical systems such as fans, pumps, compressors, heating systems, steam distribution systems, related controls, heat exchanges, filters, softeners, incinerators, small boilers and furnaces, piping fixtures, swimming pools, etc. Operation of manual and CNC lathes and mills, drill presses, cuts, threads, and bends various material, using hacksaw, pipe cutters, cutting torch, threading machine, and pipe bending machine. Assembles, installs, and tests a variety of metal and non-metal pipe and fittings, including brass, copper, steel, and plastic. Erects and works from ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, boom trucks, and similar devices. Requisitions materials and parts. Interprets blueprints, diagrams, sketches, and job specifications. Estimates time and materials to be used on the job. Prepares records and service reports of job time and materials expended.Regular in-person attendance is required to meet business and customer needs. Successful completion of an applicable trade-specific Trades Helper program, or completion of an approved apprenticeship program, or an associate degree, or equivalent education/experience. Five years of experience in commercial millwright (including machining and/or fan repair) maintenance and troubleshooting and demonstrated ability to independently perform the duties and responsibilities of the classification, or equivalent education/experience. Expert knowledge of methods, materials, tools, equipment, occupational hazards, and safety precautions of the trade. Expert knowledge of applicable building codes, rules, and regulations (local, state and federal). Possession of a valid vehicle operator's license. Furnish own tools.
