Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant in the healthcare industry, specifically within hospitals and social assistance. The role is based in Flint, Michigan, and calls for the application of a variety of skills, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger management, Journal Entries, and Month End Close operations, with proficiency in Sage Intacct software. Responsibilities: Undertake Accounts Payable (AP) related tasks such as receiving and entering invoices into the system, and following up on necessary documentation like W9s or ACH Assist with payment runs for AP Perform light Accounts Receivable (AR) related tasks such as entering invoices into Sage Execute payroll journal entries as needed Conduct reconciliation reporting and payment (AP) Engage in light General Ledger (GL) work and Journal Entries (JE) work Assist with month-end close operations and General Ledger (GL) reconciliations. Requirements Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field Proven experience in the role of a Staff Accountant or similar Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) procedures Demonstrable experience with Bank Reconciliations Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of General Ledger operations Familiarity with Journal Entries and their applications Experience with Month End Close procedures Proficiency in using Sage Intacct accounting software Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team Must have a strong ethical stance on accounting practices Ability to meet deadlines and handle pressure in a fast-paced environment Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel Familiarity with healthcare, hospitals, and social assistance industry would be an advantage.
