Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Scrum Master: III (Senior) in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is situated in the bustling tech industry and involves facilitating team progress towards delivering maximum value to the customer. The Scrum Master will act as a project manager, overseeing the team's adherence to the Scrum delivery process, and ensuring smooth communication with clients and partners. Responsibilities: Facilitate daily stand-ups and support the team in adhering to the Scrum delivery process. Engage in traditional project management duties including overseeing scope, staffing, communication status to clients and partners, and budget. Author user stories and acceptance criteria, and partake in some project testing. Serve the team and product owner in turning requirements into working software and track progress to help the team meet their commitments. Monitor and report status of scope, schedule, resourcing, and financials. Collaborate with technical team and product owner in scheduling work, including defect remediation and refactoring, ensuring the prevention of technical debt accumulation. Resolve conflicts within the team, removing any roadblocks to collaboration. Remove impediments allowing the team to focus on engineering tasks. Guide project team meetings, including sprint pre/planning meetings, daily scrum, and sprint review meetings. Facilitate retrospective discussions and drive continuous improvement efforts.Requirements Proven experience in a Scrum Master role for at least three years Demonstrable knowledge of Agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, etc. Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment Knowledge of well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach Experience with Agile project management tools Previous experience with a well-structured project management environment Ability to take and understand the commitment to deliver the product on time Know about the value of metrics and incremental delivery Knowledge about tasks, backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, user stories etc. Familiar with common development practices, Service oriented environments, and Agile practices Strong communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills Ability to adapt to a changing environment Strong problem-solving skills, with a creative and innovative mindset Excellent consulting and teamwork skills Proven experience in strategic planning, risk management, and change management Proficiency in project management software tools Ability to work with diverse teams and foster a collaborative environment Strong understanding of financial control and budget management Proven experience in executing projects, with a strong drive for continuous improvement Familiarity with software engineering practices and workstation support Ability to oversee project progress and provide corrective action when necessary.
