Job Description

Work with the team members to administer and execute the U.S. Customs Compliance Program at the branch and regional level, according to company objectives, policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibility - Declaration Management

  • Manage audit and review of the IDMA / EDMA ( Import / Export Declaration Monitoring Application)
  • IDMA / EDMA Dashboard – Reporting – Trending

Secondary Responsibilities

Import Compliance

  • Manage Statement workflow / Pay Customs Statement
  • Customs Continuous bonds
    • Issuance (New)
    • Renewals
    • Cancellation
    • Insufficiency reporting
  • Power of Attorney
    • Review Powers of Attorney received for validity and upload to POA Tool
    • Review Importer Questionnaire(s) for completeness
  • PSM Uploads/Maintenance
  • Manage Entry Activities
    • TIB cancellation / extensions
    • Entry Cancellations / Voids
  • Post Entry Activities (e.g. PSC, Protests, Voluntary Tenders)
  • Inquiry Tracker - SharePoint
  • Attend monthly Import Customs Compliance Conference Calls

Export Compliance

  • Manage Export Compliance Alerts (Weekly/Monthly)
  • Review all RSI(s) for validity and upload into the POA Tool
  • Inquiry Tracker - SharePoint
  • Attend monthly Export Customs Compliance Conference Calls

Report Management

  • POA / Continuous Bond – Monthly Renewals

  • Develop / Facilitate AUE, Customer or operator specific training

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • Successfully complete / Actively pursuing CECS / CICS program(s) Certified Export / Import Clearance Specialist
  • Customs Broker’s License / Actively pursuing
  • Strong working knowledge in either e.tms, or CFIT including import applications
  • Proficiency in the following software products: MS Office - Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Ability to deal effectively with both internal and external customers, and across all levels of an organization
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Research, problem solving and follow-up skills
  • Ability to articulate clearly through written and oral presentation
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks to completion simultaneously
  • Ability to relate to clients, Customs and other government officials, and employees at all levels

Preferred requirements:

  • 3 years’ experience in import or export
  • Understanding of one or more: Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Foreign Trade Statistics Regulations (FTSR), Harmonized Tariff Schedule United States (HTSUS)
