Job Description: Looking for a highly skilled and experienced Hadoop software developer with Test Automation background to mature data-driven insights for future product offerings. This role requires a Big Data Hadoop Developer proficient in Test Automation. You must be detail oriented, creative technologist, comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, entrepreneurial environment, manage and prioritize competing demands, and work with multiple customers while incrementally building the next generation of products. Experience Required:- Previous experience with Test Automation including Test Driven Development (TDD), Jenkins Plug-ins, Selenium, developing and executing test scripts and analyzing results
- Knowledgeable of Hadoop ecosystem, APIs and its components
- Ability to code in PySpark, Python
- Develop Shell scripts and Oozie workflows
- Ability to write SQL queries needed to query and analyze data
- Knowledge of data transfer and ingestion technologies including (Sqoop, SQL, Teradata, Oracle, Hadoop, Alteryx, etc.)
- Knowledge of different database technologies including Big Data / Hadoop (HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Shark, Spark, HBASE, PIG etc.), RDBMS and NoSQL
- Knowledge of high-level programming skills including JavaScript and NodeJS
- Proficient in designing and developing data quality and validation routines
- Proven expertise in:
- Configuring tools for various types of tests including functional, regression and performance tests
- Understanding the big picture, and the ins and outs of entire application
- Ensuring testing is baked into the continuous delivery pipeline.
- Removing barriers and bottle necks to release, increase confidence in release quality
- Catching software defects in a timely, cost-effective manner, and in ensuring system requirements are met
- Improving delivery life cycle, successfully completing automated tests
- Identifying problems and issues sooner, anticipating failures
- Validating accuracy and relevance of coded tests
- Strong team player, with the ability to collaborate well with others, to solve problems and actively incorporate input from various sources
- Demonstrated ability to follow a disciplined approach for testing, enjoy performing repetitive tasks and take pride in publishing fully tested defect-free software
- Ability to work with software engineers to get test cases developed and executed
- Strong customer focus, with the ability to evaluate decisions through the eyes of the customer, build strong customer relationships, and create processes with customer viewpoint
- Strong interpersonal, and leadership skills, with proven abilities to communicate complex topics to leaders and peers in a simple, clear, plan oriented manner
- Ability to anticipate obstacles and develop plans to resolve those obstacles
