OverviewFairview Health Services are looking for a Medical Assistant to join our Andover Urgent Care Clinic! This position is approved for 48 hours every two weeks. This position also qualifies for a $4000 sign on bonus . This position will require that you are able to work every-other weekend.The Fairview Urgent Care teams work together to ensure we are providing the best care for our patients. With 12 different urgent care locations, you may be asked to travel to another site that is outside your “home grouping” when needed. We offer urgent care at: Andover, Bloomington–Oxboro, Brooklyn Park, Eagan, Edina, Highland Park, Lakeville, Mall of America, Maplewood, North Branch, River Falls, or Woodwinds (Woodbury). If you travel out of your home sites, we do offer a monetary incentive to thank you for being flexible.Responsibilities Job DescriptionAs a member of the patients care team, Medical Assistants support quality patient- and family-centered care principles through performing a variety of high standard functions within a care team to support the needs of the healthcare team and patients. The Medical Assistant will collect information and detail the patient's visit. The MA is responsible for adhering to all policies, procedures and practice guidelines, promoting communication with all members of the team, maintaining complete, timely and accurate clinical documentation for each patient and continually looking for opportunities to improve processes and workflow.Medical Assistants deliver care as delegated by the patients Physicians, or RN. They are able to prioritize work based on need, available resources, patient preferences, provider schedule, and work in collaboration with the physician/authorized practitioner as well as other health care team members. You may also perform high, and low risk, technical procedures during your daily work which could include: medication administration, assistance with CPR, assistance with procedures which may include lab drawsWe find that those who excel in this role are also able to:

QualificationsRequired Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or LPN

Basic Life Support Certification

Preferred Qualifications

Ambulatory Care Experience

AAMA Certification

Ability to prioritize and work with a fluctuation in workload while working independently.

Ability to adapt to change and engage in ongoing process improvement.

Flexibility to work at other sites (as needed) is encourages.
