PharmacistJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced pharmacist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing prescriptions, compounding medications, overseeing pharmacy staff, and counseling nursing facility staff on medication usage and general health topics. This role offers an opportunity for career advancement to a Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) position following the contract period.Responsibilities
Review prescriptions issued by physicians or other authorized prescribers to ensure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed.
Compound sterile and non-sterile medications using standard formulas and processes, such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.
Direct other pharmacy employees engaged in mixing, packaging, labeling, and making changes to prescription orders.
Ensure the accuracy of intake of prescription orders and the efficient fulfillment of orders.
Dispense medications and provide support/counseling to nursing facility staff on the use of prescription and over-the-counter medications.
Advise physicians about medication therapy.
Counsel nursing facility staff about general health topics such as diet, exercise, and stress management.
Provide information on products such as durable medical equipment or home healthcare supplies.
Qualifications:
Pharmacy License in State of Minnesota
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college or school of pharmacy
2 years of experience in a retail environment
