Position Overview:

We are a growing interior, exterior, residential contractor rapidly expanding into the commercial market. We are currently seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team. This is a part-time/remote position (20+ hours per week) with the possibility of transitioning to a full-time role in the near future. The Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating costs for a variety of construction projects, including residential and commercial developments. You will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure that all project costs are considered in the bid, helping to keep projects on budget and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

· Cost Estimation: Perform detailed cost estimation and takeoffs from construction documents, covering materials, labor, and equipment needs.

· Bid Preparation: Prepare competitive bid proposals in collaboration with project managers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

· Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination: Source, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and quality service.

· Project Support: Work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure accurate budgeting, project tracking, and adherence to project timelines.

· Industry Awareness: Stay current on industry trends, materials, codes, and regulations to ensure accurate pricing and compliance with standards.

· Documentation: Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and project communications for future reference.

· Production Support: Assist the production manager with daily tasks such as preparing sub packets, job packets, and managing change orders.

· Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the positive evolution of the company by offering suggestions for improvement based on your experience and expertise.

Qualifications:

· Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating, with experience in residential, commercial, or industrial projects preferred.

§ Software Proficiency: Familiarity with the following is a plus: Acculynx, Bluebeam, Buildertrend, EagleView, Xactimate, Sumo Quote, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Hover.

· Knowledge: A strong understanding of construction materials, methods, cost estimation techniques, and building codes.

· Attention to Detail: Strong ability to interpret construction documents accurately and with high attention to detail.

· Communication Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.

· Team Player: A collaborative attitude, open to constructive feedback, and willing to contribute ideas for continuous improvement within the company.

Additional Requirements:

· Travel: Ability to travel to job sites as needed.

· Customer Service: Strong customer service skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, clients, and subcontractors.

· Local Market Knowledge: Familiarity with local labor rates and market conditions is a plus.

· Part-Time with Full-Time Potential: Initially a part-time position (20+ hours per week) with the possibility of transitioning to full-time as the company grows.
