Description As a Medical Records Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in managing medical records and ensuring their accuracy and completeness during the HEDIS seasonYou will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support the company's commitment to maintaining high standards of care and data integrityResponsibilities:Conduct data validation and provider outreach to ensure accurate and complete medical recordsAssist in retrieving medical records from contracted providers for project auditsReview medical records to identify any flagged information or missing data during the audit processCommunicate with providers via phone or fax to request information verification or updatesUpdate and maintain accurate records with the corrected information received from providersCollaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate completion of data validation processesAdhere to compliance standards and regulations in handling confidential medical recordsProvide exceptional customer service to healthcare providers and address any inquiries or concerns promptly and professionallyRequirements In this position, you will work with the Retrieval Operations staff to assist with the data collection cycleDemonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, and Word and similar applicationsManages various data organized within Excel spreadsheetsConducts claims research, determining correct service location or verifying member historyPerforms provider outreach, verifying and confirming provider demographics & medical record requests, both by telephone and in writingRequests medical records and performs follow up of requests within database toolsMaintains HIPAA standards and confidentiality of protected health information; reports critical incidents immediatelyPerforms medical record reviews for HEDIS® and HEDIS®-like measures via remote EMR access or onsiteSchedules on-site reviews with provider offices, medical groups, and other clinical facilities depending on geographical locationRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
