Job Description:Role Summary/Purpose:As a member of the Growth Governance and Excellence organization, the VP, Growth Governance is responsible for performing activities aligned with business stakeholders to provide expertise, insight, and a centralized first line view of the Growth function's performance in achieving compliance, regulatory, and process control objectives. Reporting to the VP, Process Governance Leader, the VP, Growth Governance is responsible for the executing activities related to first line of defense governance, process control, process universe, related reporting activities, process documentation, and oversight management routines spanning the Growth function.This individual must be a strong communicator (written and verbal), work effectively in a matrixed environment able to think both strategically and critically, and embrace a culture of change, innovation, compliance, and governance.Our Way of WorkingWe're proud to offer you choice and flexibility. Occasionally you may be required to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as business or team meetings, training and culture events.Essential Responsibilities:

Manage and execute periodic required renewals and continuous updates to Policies, Procedures, Standards, Job Aids, or any other relevant documentation in support of over 50 Level 3 Processes, including development of new documentation.

Perform activities and provide a centralized view of the function's process controls in place to comply with regulations, by facilitating the identification and documentation of controls and risks across the function.

Provide clear direction and guidance to drive a culture of proactive risk management across the Growth function.

Manage and execute activities to meet changing enterprise RCSA program standards and enhanced governance processes: standing up new L3 processes, changing process universe ownership structure, incorporating new risk categories into evaluation activities, enhancing documentation details, off-cycle updates to risk assessments based on KRI triggers.

Provide support to key Growth governance elements such as annual validations of the Process Universe, annual assessments of current risks and controls (RAQs, PRSCAs), and CTC management.

Provide periodic governance updates to appropriate Growth teams and leaders.

Partner with complementary Growth Governance teams, to provide business support and guidance in preparation for process reviews/exams, surveillance risk and control updates, and issue alignment.

Partner with leaders from key functions within Synchrony: Legal, Compliance, Operational Risk, Internal Audit, Center of Expertise/Excellence (COE) Leaders, Surveillance, and Client/Platform Teams alike, to deliver on business goals and objectives.

Perform other responsibilities and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree. In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of risk management, compliance, and/or direct process management experience in the financial services industry

5+ years of professional work experience, preferably in a financial services institution

Strong experience reviewing and drafting policies, procedures, standards, and job aids.

Experience with process maps, Process Universe, risk and control analysis and documentation, and other key governance elements

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Strong project and time management skills

Cross-functional team leadership experience

Desired Characteristics:

3+ years of experience presenting ideas and recommendations to senior level audiences.

Demonstrated experience working across a matrixed organization.

Understanding of Growth business systems and processes

Goal oriented, self-motivated and ability to work independently with moderate guidance and instruction.

Demonstrated strategic and process skills with proven ability to execute.

Confidence interacting with stakeholders across the business, all lines of defense and levels of management, to include Senior Leadership audiences, as necessary.

Understanding of legal requirements/CTCs related to all Growth processes and risks.

Excellent facilitation and problem-solving skills

Demonstrated experience as an agent of change within a heavily regulated-compliance environment.

Grade/Level: 12The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.Eligibility Requirements:

You must be 18 years or older

You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
