The position participates in statewide, district, regional and local planning initiatives that contribute to the development of a safe and sound multimodal transportation system. It provides leadership and support in the development of district and statewide transportation plans and studies; the administration of the district’s access management and development review process; and the creation, communication and administration of the District 10-year Capital Highway Investment Plan to ensure integration and consistency with statewide and district investment planning goals and investment direction.Please Note: This position may work out of Baxter or St. Cloud, Minnesota and will have the option to telework on a part-time/hybrid basis. The employee will be required to complete a telework agreement.MnDOT does not sponsor applicants for work visas or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment.Minimum QualificationsTwo (2) years of advanced professional transportation planning experience.NOTE: A Bachelor's or master’s degree in Planning, Geography, Urban Studies, Sociology, Political Science substitutes for six months of advanced professional experience.)Experience must also demonstrate the following:
Working knowledge of the theory and practice of comprehensive regional and community planning, with the focus on transportation, land use, and stakeholder collaboration.
Knowledge of public engagement tools and techniques for reaching a broad spectrum of audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
A bachelor's or master’s degree in planning, Geography, Urban Studies, Sociology, or Political Science
Experience preparing transportation planning studies.
