Lead IT Business Analyst

[RGA in St. Louis MO seeks a Lead IT Business Analyst to lead evaluation of business requests to determine requirements, feasibility, and recommend business solutions. Contributes to product vision and strategic direction. Identifies potential efficiency gains in team process/procedures including leveraging innovation where feasible. Fosters mutually beneficial working relationships for business and IT by working closely with end users and application development team. Uses their deep business and technical knowledge to contribute to system capabilities. Specific duties include: i) Leads a project support team, including hiring, mentoring, growing, and empowering; ii) May supervise or manage four or fewer employees, and responsible for team's performance; coaches and mentors team members; iii) Conducts structured walkthroughs of requirements with business and project team members; iv) Assist with prioritizing work within an iteration and targeted release; v) Document the clients business needs in the form of user stories; vi) Creates business process and technical diagrams for shared understanding; vii) Conduct grooming sessions with full team (users, developers dbas, needed IT partners, etc.); viii) Facilitate technical grooming session with development team to document technical support stories; ix) Create defect and enhancement items to be added to the backlog, collaborate with software engineer for mutual understanding; x) Assists in evaluation of business requests to determine feasibility, researches and identifies options xi) Evaluates new or enhanced solutions to determine potential issues and communicates how problems may affect business and recommends solutions. BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or closely related field. The individual must possess at least 96 months of IT-related experience, such as Business Analysis, Data Analysis, or Application Development or a combination thereof. In addition, candidate must have: i) broad business knowledge and proficiency in application support aptitude; ii) knowledge of programming languages such as XML and SQL, project management, and application or systems development methodologies; iii) experience leading an Agile/Iterative project team in the role of business analyst; iv) maintaining a working competency of technology stack associated with project solutions; and v) basis SQL query writing skills. Technical Requirements: i) SQL and XML; ii) Advanced Microsoft Excel; iii) Microsoft ADO or Atlassian JIRA; iv) Advanced Data Analysis; v) Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
