Heat Treat SpecialistJob DetailsLevelEntry Job LocationKansas City Division - Kansas City, MO Position TypeFull Time Salary Range$19.00 - $21.00 Hourly Job Shift3rd Shift DescriptionProcess orders in the Batch, Black Oxide, Blast, Induction or Salt Bath Departments; including planning and staging the work, selecting the fixturing for the work, and processing the work in accordance with customer requirements. Key Responsibilities:

Read production log and notes from previous shift to determine setup or changeover requirements.

Stage work using appropriate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, hoists, dumpers and conveyor systems.

Select the proper fixturing for each job anticipating the effect of treatment on size, distortion and the possibility of breakage or other damage and prepare the work for processing, properly directing preparation by others assigned to the department.

Follow and maintain Shoplog scheduling system, reporting any discrepancies to supervisor. Coordinate production schedule with other departments, integrating work with other departments to cause minimum disruption and to reduce processing time

Fill in shop orders, charts, production logs, Shoplog and other production records and reports completely and accurately for all operations performed, describing the work done and the time required to do it.

Follow shop order and other instructions to process parts without close supervision; adjust processing techniques to compensate for customer requirements and standard equipment set up.

Perform in-process inspection of work as required and adjust the process to ensure that the parts conform to specifications; recognize parts which are cracked, distorted or have an unacceptable appearance and take appropriate action.

Start up, regulate and shut down equipment safely and in such a way as to avoid damage in excess of normal wear and tear.

Set and monitor all controls, checking instruments and controls frequently enough to ensure the work is processed by the correct procedure and that the instruments are functioning properly.

Operate, monitor and maintain equipment, skim and sludge bath, and adjust chemicals and temperature levels as assigned.

Unload and repackage parts and properly direct unloading and repackaging by other workers assigned to the department.

Know and follow all applicable Business Management Systems, such as quality procedures, work instructions, environmental and safety policies.

Monitor all equipment settings and waste treatment in the department. Maintain Black Oxide waste treatment system as needed.

Coordinate work with other departments to cause minimum disruption and to reduce processing time.

Perform dry honing, painting and straightening operations as needed.

QualificationsQualifications:

Requires a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen, this includes THC.

License(s)/Certification(s) Required:

Must be able to obtain a forklift certification.

Experience:

On-the-job training is required for this position.

Must be available for all shifts.
