Fleet Technician IV

FLEET TECHNICIAN IV DEPARTMENT:Public WorksCLOSING DATE:OPEN UNTIL FILLEDPRIMARY DUTIES:Performs a wide variety of preventative maintenance and repair services on the Citys fleet equipment (motor vehicles, heavy equipment, etc.); and ensures that all fleet equipment complies with established safety standards and regulations. Follow City policies regarding safely operating a variety of fleet equipment.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalent accreditation PLUS five (5) years demonstrated proficiency working as an automotive, mechanical, electronics and/or heavy equipment mechanic. Diesel mechanic experience and hydraulic/air brake experience is preferred.ORFour (4) years experience in an Equipment Technician II-III (or comparable position) with the City of Lebanon or municipal government entity.SUBSTITUTION:Graduation from a vocational/technical training program with specialization in motor vehicle mechanics, heavy equipment mechanics, or comparable education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
