Summary:The Manager of Epic Applications is responsible for managing the team that designs and configures Epic’s various applications. In this role, you will plan, direct, and coordinate activities of systems projects to ensure projects and goals are accomplished.Responsibilities:
Lead an application team and ensure quality and productivity measures are consistently achieved
Collaborate closely with IT and the Business in the delivery of high-performing services.
Executes the Epic roadmap in alignment with Business and IT Vision & Operating Plan
Manage the development, upgrade, and maintenance of all Epic Applications as well as select ancillary systems
Partners with Product organizations related to the prioritization of work and management of tasks
Resolves application issues and identifies opportunities to improve capability and acceptance of the EHR. Assure high level of system uptime and service via management of production support
Manages service, enhancement and new system requests based on evolving protocols for intake and prioritization
Monitors and status on operating and capital budgets for Epic and associated Applications. Working with IT leadership, manages vendor services, performance, and contracting driving optimum levels.
Recruits, mentors, develops, and trains direct reports to deliver high quality services
Participates in cross-organizational Steering Committee, including sharing program status, budget updates, risk and needs, and drive for decisions
Must be able to function as part of a team providing a high level of quality service to clients
Analyze, troubleshoot, research and solve technically challenging problems involving integrated systems
Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree Information Technology or other related healthcare field or equivalent work experience
At least 5 years’ experience in Epic application support, configuration, testing, etc. and or other related work
Mandatory: Certified in the Epic application or more Epic modules such as
Demonstrated leadership experience leading projects and people required
Experience in health care IT leadership preferred
Experience working in a healthcare setting preferred
Detail oriented, strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills required
Ability to analyze, diagnose, suggest and implement process changes
Strong customer service orientation and ability to follow through issues to resolution
Ability to interact with all levels of physician practice personnel to include: IT management staff, consulting staff, clinicians, clinical administrators, etc.
Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and personnel
Knowledge of healthcare operations and data structures and the use of information system applications in the practicing healthcare environment preferred
