OverviewWe are seeking a full-time Senior Project Manager Engineering in our St. Louis, MO location. In this role, you will be responsible for serving as leader and mentor in mid to large scale and complex project management activities between project teams and other departments in the development of Garmin products.Essential Functions

Leverages advanced understanding and expertise of project management skills on complex projects or tasks, including understanding and communicating of project scope, milestones, and decisions

Serves as a role model for leading effective and efficient team meetings including ability to drive wide variety of efforts toward resolution/closure and identifying and resolving conflicts within the project team(s)

Leverages advanced communication skills to ensure team members, stakeholders, and customers are appropriately informed, leads project tradeoff discussions and drives decisions to keep projects moving forward

Creates and maintains complex timelines and milestone tracking, detailed budget and applies project metrics and risk management principles to identify and mitigate potential schedule impacting items

Drives project development and issue resolution through identification of risks/issues, creation of mitigation plans for projects within their segment and identification of issues which impact other segments

Identifies and resolves conflicts through understanding of interdependencies of and development of effective relationships between the development team(s), other Garmin teams/departments, and external entities (e.g. customers, suppliers, etc)

Utilizes understanding of product domain to contribute to advanced concept/new feature development efforts and/or research of new technologies

Leverages understanding of document control and change management processes

Works to independently find solutions to challenges, including suggesting and leading implementation of improvements to the product development and project management processes

Demonstrates exceptional customer communication skills, including but not limited to handling difficult conversations and negotiating with the customer for reasonable delivery targets

Completes PPAP and APQP documentation requirements to meet customer expectations

Supports working hours as needed to best align with project development needs -resources will be treated as on-call for customer depending on customers working hours

Develops and maintains a detailed project budget, product costs, staffing plan, and change request register

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline AND a minimum of 5 years relevant project management experience OR an equivalent combination of education and project management experience

Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)

Ability to lead a team in the development of product/concept development plans as well as successfully execute projects of any scale or complexity

Advanced understanding of production and operations issues as they relate to engineering project management, including the ability to successfully identify and mitigate risks

Previous experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

Demonstrated success in bringing together cross functional teams for effective problem resolution

Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Must be positive, detail oriented, organized, team oriented and a driven problem solver, multi-tasker, and self-starter with the ability to prioritize and lead projects in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment

Ability to deal with confidential company matters

Proficient computer skills in MS Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint)

Desired Qualifications

Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5 as a general rule)

Relevant knowledge, experience and/or training in avionics systems, software engineering, and/or aviation
