Job Title: WelderJob Description & Responsibilities
Perform stick welding and MiG welding on barges.
Grind, torch cut, and fit materials as needed for repairs.
Read and interpret blueprints to execute precise welding tasks.
Check in barges and carry out necessary repairs onsite.
Collaborate with the machine shop to obtain precise materials for repairs.
Work efficiently in various weather conditions including wind, rain, snow, and heat.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in MiG welding and stick welding.
Experience with torch cutting and grinding.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Fitting and fabrication skills.
Experience using a tape measure for precise measurements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Shipyard experience is preferred.
Relevant welding certifications.
Experience with grinding and torch cutting.
Work Environment
This position requires working on barges in various weather conditions including wind, rain, snow, and heat.
The shift schedule is from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with 50 hours one week and 64 hours the next, including working every other weekend.
