Forward Farms / 4K Cattle Co., LLC seeks an Accounting Analyst.

Who We Are: 4K Cattle Company is a family-owned specialty livestock and meat company. Under the brand Forward Farms, we are proud to bring the first beef raised 100% carbon neutral to market. We operate in both consumer facing and business-to-business sectors and are excited to be adding to our team.

We are based in Bozeman, Montana but we custom process cattle in two beef fabrication plants in Idaho. The company has grown over 30% year over year for the past four years and forecasts continued rigorous yearly growth. Part of this rapid growth is due to our pioneering of our beef raised 100% carbon neutral by Forward Farms. This exciting and industry changing niche is poised for significant growth on beef shelves across America, with over 700 stores in 10 states showcasing Forward Farms products, with additional sales growing monthly.

Who You Are: We are seeking someone who is as passionate about protein as we are. We are seeking an individual with formal accounting and/or finance education and a penchant for bookkeeping / financial analysis.

Desired accounting/bookkeeping competencies include but are not limited to: Standard bookkeeping practices, financial preparation/analysis, KPI generation, and general organization as well as process documentation

While highly numerical in nature, the individual must possess good written and interpersonal skills. The individual will spend half of their time keeping our books up to date and the other half helping with data collection and financial analysis. The Accounting Analyst position reports directly to the Financial Controller who is charged with monitoring financial health of the business and maintaining comprehensive financial/KPI reporting that will provide the CEO with prescriptive and predictive data to make general business decisions.

What are the Responsibilities:

Internal Accounting:

Gather all bills for approval and enter bills into bookkeeping system.

Update all accounts payable and receivable.

Prepare financial documents and reports.

Make sure vendor and customer information is current and accurate.

Update payments received and send payment remittance.

Assist with payroll and accounts payable.

Reconcile company accounts.

Assist with all tax and miscellaneous financial processes.

Internal Data Analysis:

Gather data for weekly and monthly KPIs.

Update weekly demand planning spreadsheets and company scorecard metrics with current data.

Maintain current inventory tracking logs.

Maintain organized documentation of all cattle receiving and weights.

Any other company's financial needs as defined by the Controller and CEO.

Education Preference:

College course work in accounting, finance, or business preferred.

Required Experience and Skills:

Previous bookkeeping and accounting experience.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Strong numerical proficiency.

Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

A strong work ethic.

Advanced knowledge of accounting software and financial analysis.

Attention to detail.

The ability to multitask.

Problem-solving skills.

Interpersonal skills, including collaboration and communication.

Strong business ethics and integrity.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

Experience with a variety of different bookkeeping/account software. (Experience with Zoho Books is a plus)

Experience in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Experience with data manipulation and storage.

Where It Is: The position is a hybrid position: some time is required weekly at the Bozeman office and some work weekly can be done from home. However, we are looking for an individual who resides in Bozeman or the greater Gallatin County area. Occasional travel will be required to meet remote vendors, to inspect inventory, to attend periodic company offsite planning sessions, and possibly to assist with trade show set up and tear down.

What It Pays:

Position will pay $60-65K annual salary depending on experience and education.

401K up to 3% annual company match.

100% individual health care coverage (cost is approx. $1200/month) after a 90 day probation period.

Computer and phone allowance included.
