The US Rheumatology team is an innovative, collaborative team working to lay the foundation for an emerging rheumatology portfolio. The structure of the team requires the team to think differently to create efficiency while also providing unique opportunities to lead and develop real world evidence, generate publications, and set the model for strategy and content creation.Job DescriptionThe Director of Operations reports to the Head of US Medical, Rheumatology. This position will play an important role in helping the team achieve its goals and sharing the team’s learnings across the organization by coordinating the planning, tracking and reporting of key initiatives. In addition, this position will lead the development of field materials, the planning and execution of ongoing team development and training, and implementation of internal initiatives to enable medical to continue to be a strategic partner. Up to 30% travel may be required with approximately three days per month in the corporate headquarters and additional travel for team, company, and scientific meetings. General roles and responsibilities include:
Development of templates and management of timelines for annual strategic plans
Track and ensure on-time and on-budget execution of tactical plans
Track key performance indicators and create monthly management reports
Coordinate planning of team meetings and offsites
Create an ongoing training plan for professional team development
Develop onboarding plan for new team members
Manage submission, tracking and troubleshooting of contracts
Development of external scientific engagement materials
Budget management including submission of estimates, change orders and invoice tracking
Provide project management for major initiatives to ensure timely execution
Provide oversight, management and assistance for team systems and processes [e.g., CRM, Teams, Content management library, etc.]
Work with internal stakeholders to implement medical excellence initiatives
Coordinate coverage for national and regional meetings
Interface with other North America Medical Operation Leads to identify efficiencies, best practices, and ensure consistent implementation
Liaison to CSU to facilitate medical support for clinical trial sites and recruitment
Represent rheumatology on global and local medical affairs workstreams
Work Experience :
At least 5 years in medical affairs (field or home office) or related area
At least 3 years in field medical preferred, but not required
Education:
Advanced degree in a technical, scientific, medical field or other relevant life sciences degree with healthcare specialty (i.e. MD, PhD, Pharm D)
Minimum required skills:
Knowledge of policies, procedures and regulations related to medical affairs
Knowledge of specialty products, with rheumatology or immunology preferred
Strong planning, tracking, prioritization and organizational skills
Works well in teams, including cross-functional teams
Good communication skills, both oral and written/presentation
Ability to proactively identify and trouble-shoot issues with focus on solutions
Committed to self-development, seeks feedback and is self-aware
Integrity and dedication to the highest ethical and scientific standards
Minimum preferred skills:
Capabilities in analytics, training/development and process improvement methodology is a plus
Experience managing budgets
Able to work with ambiguity
Proactive, self-starter, ability to self-manage
Technical skills :
Knowledge of field medical systems (e.g., CRM, content management solutions) is a plus
Fluent in Excel, PowerPoint, Word
Experience with project management tools
The salary range for this position is $171,000.00 to $228,000.00. All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience.
