The Sr Analyst/Radio Infrastructure is responsible for technical expertise and support of efforts associated with the coordination, configuration, and on-going maintenance of Company radio/communication infrastructure. Leveraging industry standards and best practices, support includes the guidance and coordination of associated components such as hardware, software, and network connections. The position may provide task direction for others on assigned projects of any complexity and scope.POSITION DIMENSIONSThe incumbent does not have accountability for people or budgets but may provide task direction for others on assigned projects of any complexity and scope. The incumbent infrequently exchanges information with officers and frequently exchanges information with professional level personnel, members of division management teams, department managers and outside parties.QUALIFICATIONSThere are clear precedents and practices which the incumbent uses as guidelines to determine how this job is performed. This position requires five to seven years of relevant work experience. The primary requirements for this position are technical skills and experience with conventional and trunked radio systems. Microsoft Windows server and desktop operating system technologies. Incumbents performing activities requiring government, regulatory or vendor certification (ex. FCC licensing) must keep those certifications current.A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or progress towards is preferred. Industry recognized certification(s) relevant to responsibilities are preferred. Previous experience with Microsoft Office Products is preferred.ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead/perform and support work with Dispatch, Operations Technical Services and other Operations groups, and project managers, to determine technical requirements (including performance and capacity) as it relates to the radio/communication system, including hardware, software, end user devices, security, back up, retention and recovery, application integration and network

Provide analysis, including recommendations, and support of associated radio equipment infrastructure using Company methodology (cost/benefit, risk, etc.) and determine implementation schedule targets

Review and provide guidance on radio technology component specifications and assure cost-effectiveness and compatibility with I/S architectures/practices for security and technology recovery

Confirm use of existing infrastructure to meet requirements, or work with Operations Technical Services to identify needs for new types of infrastructure or services and identify infrastructure and services to be retired or discontinued

Support efforts in configuration, testing, implementation and production turnover of technical infrastructure products and tools as assigned (hardware platforms, operating systems, virtualization, data management, network, databases, security, other)

Review/maintain records, including asset, configuration and vendor or government licensing records associated with the Radio Communication system

Prepare and submit Federal Communications Commission (FCC) licensing requests for new sites, renewals of existing sites, modification of current licenses and construction notifications.

Coordinate with project managers and other departments to provide infrastructure product training for end users and support groups

Develop standards and department procedures for effective use and maintenance of the radio/communication system

Coordinate problem diagnosis and resolution of the radio/communication system in a timely manner

Provide input to Service Level Objectives in coordination with Operations groups to ensure proper functionality, performance, and quality of radio communication

Provide approval for radio communication system upgrades etc. associated with production implementations for areas of responsibility (hardware, tower sites, communication channels etc.)

Perform and or support problem diagnosis and resolution on a timely basis and participate in "postmortem" reviews, as assigned

Lead or participate in the analysis, prioritization and development of change requests, upgrades, patches, and maintenance actions, assuring appropriate coordination, communication, approval, and post-implementation verification

Provide on-call support when assigned

Participate in technology recovery and departmental emergency management planning, rehearsals and execution as assigned

Communicate with and participate effectively in project teams, work groups, support groups, business areas, and with suppliers, as appropriate taking lead roles, keeping department and project team personnel informed on progress and problems

Plan team and individual work, including coordination with end users, to achieve expected scope, schedule and deliverables

Review documentation prepared by others and monitor timely completion, as assigned

Develop, maintain and ensure effective use of strategic plans policies, practices, methodology, standards and tools

Design, conduct and participate in training

Be a source of knowledge and expertise in one or more functional and/or technical topics and prepare briefings and research reports as appropriate

Gain appropriate knowledge of the business processes and organization in the areas being supported

Participate in negotiating and renewing product and service contracts, and monitor performance against contract terms and maintain relationships with assigned suppliers

Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned
