Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accountant in Reno, Nevada. The role is in the accounting industry and will involve tasks such as processing grant accounting and providing accounting services. Responsibilities Carry out all grant financial reporting requirements in a timely and accurate manner. Monitor grant expenditures and budgets, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Communicate effectively with grant coordinators and other district personnel. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and participate in audits. Maintain various subsidiary ledgers and ensure their accuracy. Prepare and post journal entries as required. Review purchase requisitions and purchasing card transactions for accuracy. Maintain position control allocations and ensure they are updated. Prepare schedules, cost analyses, projections and reports as needed. Monitor and document the accounts payable and payroll systems for quality assurance and operational efficiency. Proven experience in accounting services is a must. Strong knowledge and experience in grant accounting. Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent numerical skills with attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must adhere to detail oriented ethics and demonstrate integrity and transparency. Continual learning attitude to stay updated with the latest accounting regulations and practices.
