Geotechnical Engineer - Mining & Mine Waste Storage

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated staff geotechnical to support surface mining, mine waste storage and heavy civil infrastructure design and analysis as part of the growing AECOM Mining Division. The candidate will have broad experience in supporting surface mining operations and the design and evaluation of waste rock storage, heap and run of mine leaching and tailings storage facilities.Job Summary/ Responsibilities:Performs specific and moderate portions of broader assignmentsPlans, directs and performs specific and/or moderate portions of mid- to large, complex projects under the supervision of an experienced senior engineer.Plans, implements, performs and oversees geotechnical exploration and laboratory testing programs (30% travel/field time)Plans, overseas and performs geotechnical evaluations including material characterization, liquefaction, seepage, slope stability, and settlement analysesPrepares and reviews calculation packagesAssisting with the development of geotechnical reports, drawings and specificationsPreparing and presenting technical presentations of evaluation results to internal and client teamsReview of geotechnical instrumentation and preparation of instrumentation monitoring reports
