Description Robert Half is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist for our client in South Reno! This is expected to be a 6 month contract/temporary assignment paying $25-28/hr depending on experience. The Temporary Payroll Specialist will play a crucial role in our organization, managing high-volume, weekly payroll processing, with a focus on union payroll. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurate and timely payroll data entry, ensuring compliance with company policies, state and federal regulations, and union contracts.Key Responsibilities:
Weekly Payroll Processing: Handle end-to-end weekly payroll processing for a high volume of employees, including calculating, inputting, and verifying payroll data.
Union Payroll: Manage payroll for unionized employees, ensuring accurate calculation of wages, benefits, and deductions in accordance with union contracts.
Data Entry: Perform heavy data entry tasks related to payroll, including new hire information, time and attendance records, deductions, and tax information.
Accuracy and Compliance: Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and union agreements.
Record Keeping: Maintain organized and accurate payroll records, both electronic and hardcopy, for auditing and reporting purposes.
Payroll Reconciliation: Reconcile discrepancies and resolve payroll issues promptly to maintain employee satisfaction.
Reporting: Prepare and distribute payroll reports as required, including payroll registers, tax filings, and union reports.
Communication: Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to address payroll-related inquiries and resolve issues.
Payroll Software: Utilize payroll software and systems effectively to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Requirements
Two or more years of payroll processing experience in a high-volume computerized payroll environment (Oracle or similar)
Experienced payroll detail oriented; union payroll and multi-state location experience desired.
