Belknap Area Market Management (BAMM) is setting out to change the local agriculture landscape in Belknap County! The idea is simple: local farms, food producers and crafters need a place to sell their stuff. We provide that with a friendly, professional atmosphere along with all the services and resources needed for vendors to not only survive, but thrive.
In 2024 we will be running three markets: in Tilton on Tuesdays from 3:30-6:30PM, in Meredith on Fridays from 3:30-6:30PM and at Weirs Beach on Saturdays from 10-1. Before each market, the market manager will send out a market map for that week’s vendors. The market manager needs to arrive one hour before the markets start, and will generally stay up to 30 minutes after. While on site, the market manager will set up several tents and tables, post signs, hang banners, and direct vendors where to set up. During market hours, the manager will sell market tokens and manage SNAP/EBT transactions from the welcome tent, and make one social media post that the market is open within 30 minutes of the start of the market. In some cases, a small number of products will be sold from the welcome tent during market hours.
The market manager will be responsible for ensuring that market rules are being adhered to, and will need to manage any conflicts if they should arise, while keeping in mind some issues should be handled by the owners outside of market hours.
The market manager will be responsible for picking up the company vehicle in Belmont on Friday afternoon before the Meredith market, and returning it on Saturday afternoon after the Weirs Beach market. The vehicle must be returned to Belmont after the Tilton market on Tuesdays.
